Welcome to the USAG-Miami Family and MWR Fitness Center—one of the finest fitness facilities in the military community. Spanning approximately 44,000 square feet, this state-of-the-art facility is designed to support your physical readiness, health, and wellness goals.

Welcome to one of the finest fitness centers in the military community. Spanning 44,000 square feet, our state-of-the-art facility stands out for its modern design, top-quality equipment, and well-maintained spaces. The entire indoor area is fully air-conditioned and feels brand new, offering a clean, comfortable, and energizing environment for all fitness levels.

Indoor Area- First Floor

Reception- Located at the main entrance, our reception desk is your one-stop hub for everything MWR-related. Patrons can also check out a wide range of sports and fitness equipment here. The Fitness Center is also outfitted with functional training gear including kettlebells, medicine balls, sleds, power racks, rowing machines, stability balls, battle ropes, and much more.

Gymnasium- The expansive gymnasium houses two full-size basketball courts, which can be easily converted into volleyball courts to support a variety of recreational and intramural sports.

Racquetball Court- Available for open play or reservation, the racquetball court provides a fast-paced workout and is great for improving agility and coordination.

Men's and Women Locker Room- For post-workout recovery and comfort, our men’s and women’s locker rooms are spacious and well-maintained, complete with showers, lockers, and saunas.

Indoor Area- Second Floor

Indoor Running Track- Enjoy climate-controlled cardio on our indoor track, perfect for walking, jogging, or sprinting without worrying about the weather.

Weight Room- This area is packed with top-tier equipment including free weights, dumbbells, cardio machines, and Hammer Strength equipment. Whether you’re looking to build strength, improve endurance, or tone up, you’ll find everything you need here.

Ab Room- A focused space equipped with mats and core-training gear to help you strengthen your midsection.

Strength/Cardio Room- Ideal for those who prefer a mix of strength and cardio training with a bit more privacy.

 

Outdoor Area- First Floor

Outdoor Fitness Center- Mirroring much of what’s offered indoors, the outdoor fitness center includes a selection of resistance and bodyweight training equipment. It also includes TRX suspension systems. It’s ideal for those who prefer open-air workouts.

Outdoor Running Track- Surrounding the facility, the outdoor track offers a great space for running or walking with scenic views and fresh air.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What are acceptable forms of ID for access to the Fitness Center?

     All patrons are required to present a DoD ID card or USSOUTHCOM badge prior to using the facility. 

 2. Who is eligible to use the Fitness Center?

     a. Active-duty Service Members and their dependents. 

     b. Members of the Army National Guard (ARNG) and US Army Reserve (USAR) and their Family members, either active or reserve component. 

     c. Retired military personnel and their Family members with dependent ID card. 

     d. DOD civilians and contractors working at USSOUTHCOM. 

     e. USSOUTHCOM badge holders without a DoD ID card.

     f. External users: City of Doral Police Department, Miami-Dade Police Department, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue with proper identification during regular fitness center hours.**

     ** External users do not have authorization to sponsor guests.

3. What is the youth age policy for the Fitness Center?

•Children of kindergarten age and older will use gender-appropriate showers, locker rooms, and bathrooms.
•Children 12-years old and under:
. May not use the mechanical cardiovascular, strength, sauna, group exercise areas, or indoor and outdoor track at any time.
. May not be left unattended, or not within arms’ length of a parent or guardian.
. May use the basketball and racquetball courts under direct supervision of a parent or guardian 18-years old or older at all times.
•Youth ages 13-15 may use any area of this facility under direct supervision of a parent or guardian 18-years old or older at all times.
•Youth ages 16-17 may use any area of this facility without adult supervision.

6. Can I request specific music to be played?

     No. Earphones must be used while utilizing indoor and outdoor facility.

7. Can visitors use the Fitness Center?

     Authorized users (Active Duty, Retirees, Reserve Military and their Family, and USSOUTHCOM Badge Holders) who wish to have guests utilize the Fitness Center will adhere to the following. 
•Authorized users who are 18 years of age or older may have no more than two (2) guests per visit.
•Sponsors will complete a guest sign in sheet each time.
•Sponsors are responsible for the conduct of their guest at all times while in the facility. The sponsor must remain in facility with their guest.

     *External users do not have authorization to sponsor guests.

8. How much are Fitness Center classes?

     Group fitness classes are $3 per class. Punch passes, which comprise of 10 classes, are available for $25 and expire after 1 year. 

9. Are there spa & wellness services available, i.e. massages, esthetician, dietitians, etc.?

     We now offer massage services by Simo Massage Therapy, call (305) 992-6685 for more information. 

10. Can I rent a locker?

     No. Lockers are for daily use only. No items should be left inside lockers overnight.  Lockers are checked after normal hours of operation. Items found will be stored in lost and found for a maximum of thirty days.

     No BAGS will be allowed in fitness rooms or courts.

11. Can I make a reservation for the basketball and racquetball courts?

     Yes. Reservations for basketball and racquetball courts can be made by contacting us at usarmy.miami.rrad.mbx.dfmwr-recreation@mail.mil. Reservations for ceremonies or special events must be approved by the Fitness Center manager.

12. Does the Fitness Center have towels to wipe down the machines?

     No. Gym wipe buckets are provided to wipe down equipment and cardio machines before and after use. Gym wipes and trash cans are located in each room and around the track in the Fitness Center.

24/7 Access

Authorized users 18 years old and older (Active Duty, Retirees, and Reserve Military and their dependents, USSOUTHCOM Badge Holders) will follow Unstaffed Physical Fitness Centers Policy Memorandum.


Current USSOUTHCOM Badge Holders:
1. Complete the USAG-Miami Physical Fitness Center After Hours Agreement and Physical Fitness 24/7 Waiver
2. Return both documents to the Fitness Center in person or by emailing usarmy.miami.rrad.mbx.dfmwr-recreation@mail.mil.
3. The Fitness Center Manager/Lead Recreation Assistant will review and approve the request.
4. Once approved, Fitness Center staff will email documents to the J2 for updated badge access.
5. Badge access is estimated to be updated in 5 business days. J2 does not inform Fitness Center staff of badge status. It is the patron’s responsibility to ensure badge access has been updated.
Non-USSOUTHCOM Badge Holders:
1. Complete the USAG-Miami Physical Fitness Center After Hours Agreement and Physical Fitness 24/7 Waiver.
2. Return both documents to the Fitness Center in person or by emailing usarmy.miami.rrad.mbx.dfmwr-recreation@mail.mil.
3. The Fitness Center Manager/Lead Recreation Assistant will review and approve the requests.
4. Once approved, Fitness Center staff will notify the patrons to pay the $5 badge fee to the Fitness Center.
5. The patron will take the $5 badge receipt and approved 24/7 documents to the Badging Office, located on the 1st floor of the Garrison Building.
6. Patron will be issued a USAG-Miami Physical Fitness Center badge available for immediate use.
7. In the event of a lost or stolen badge, the patron is responsible for notifying the Fitness Center and paying a $5 replacement badge fee.

Sports Simulator

Operating hours are from Monday through Friday 5 AM-6PM.

Sports Simulator can be used by reservations only. Contact us at usarmy.miami.rrad.mbx.dfmwr-recreation@mail.mil to reserve your session.

Reservations are $15 per hour and includes play for up to twenty people.

Walk ins may be possible based on availability. 

Minors should be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older at all times.

This system is available to all DoD ID cardholders and USSOUTHCOM badge holders.
